With many great submission rolling through our door already, you've got until July 30th to send us your short horror film to be screened at the Order of Melbourne... Send us your disc and bio to PO Box 1172, North Fitzroy 3068

Not only a night of terrifying short film, it's an opportunity to show your passion for this cult genre by dressing in costume. Featuring ghoulish DJs spinning cult tracks, "gorelesque", and performers, tickets go on sale through moshtix from August 4th. Anything goes. $8 / 8pm start.

Once Upon an Afternoon - Melbourne Spring Fashion Week

Melbourne’s ateliers, workshops, studios and independent stores are buzzing with the creativity of designers and artists who produce quirky, boundary-pushing fashion & design.

Once Upon an Afternoon showcases these Melbournian independent creatives, featuring jewellery design from EMMA JANE DONALD & METAL COUTURE, men’s wear from KOLLATE, women’s wear from PREAP & COUTTS and CHARLOTTE WEBB, t-shirts and streetwear by KOSI KOSI & CHAPTER 11, and a fabulous costume design finale by local costumier MARNIE BARCZAK. It’s an afternoon of fashion, art, film and music, with the fashion modelled by local DJs, performers and musicians; there’ll be DJs, showbags for the first hundred punters through the door and great video art by Leila Koren.

Think of it as an anti-fashion event for people who love fashion & design without the pretension - we don’t use models, we don’t strut the catwalk to ironic eighties house. It’s just good fashion, great design, and all available in Melbourne. Be there, and be part of the Melbourne Spring Fashion Week cultural program.

Bendigo based label KOSI KOSI is set to showcase their new collection for Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, as part of the Once Upon an Afternoon Parade at the Toff on Saturday 5th September. Having been on a long hiatus whilst Kane travelled through the US and Europe in the second half of 2008, Kosi Kosi is now back with fresh ideas and a new label-mate, Kyle.

Oh! The Horror!

Oh! The Horror! is a night of horror film and theatre, to be held at the Order of Melbourne in late August. It'll feature the best of local horror short film, DJs spinning horrible & ghoulish tracks, and horrible theatre performing skits throughout the night.

We're seeking submissions from film-makers for short, Australian horror films, to be screened as part of the event. Your film must be no longer than 10 minutes, and be in the horror genre.

What's in it for you? Exposure! Another forum for your short film to reach an audience hungry for horror. We'll screen your film with as part of a mini-festival, and feature you as a director on our website, as well as include you in the film program that every punter will get as they come through the door. It's a great opportunity to get your name out there.

What do I have to do? Send us the URL of your short film (on YouTube or Vimeo) and a brief bio, or a link to your website. That's it! We'll get back to you after the closing date to let you know the outcome!
